Duties May Include

Cooks perform some or all of the following duties:

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes or special meals under the direction of a dietitian or chef.

May specialize in preparing/cooking ethnic cuisine or specialty dishes.

Supervise kitchen helpers.

Oversee the preparation, cooking, and handling of food by subordinate personnel.

May plan menus, determine the size of the food portions, estimate costs, and monitor/order supplies.
