Description | Engage in critical understandings of feminist scholarship across different historical, socio-economic, cultural and political contexts. Consider how gender intersects with race, class, ethnicity, age, ability and sexuality in a globalized and transnational world. Study gender in courses that cross disciplines and contribute to activist projects. Our interdisciplinary program will encourage you to question accepted notions and interpretations of gender roles in society, as well as analyze the multiple ways gender affects our local, national and global environment. Our tight-knit community offers a stimulating, supportive and inclusive environment. You can participate in a practicum placement with feminist groups, organizations and agencies. We also offer three minors: Critical Race Studies; Disability Studies; and Sexuality Studies. There is also a concentration in Global Genders and Sexualities within the Bachelor of Global and International Studies.
