DescriptionHow do we know what we know? What is real? What is good? What is rational? These questions have started whole branches of philosophy. And, although they can take us to interesting and abstract places, they also circle back to critical and practical questions of modern life. Your courses in ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, and logic, as well as more specialized courses in philosophy of science, feminism, philosophy of mind and language, and applied ethics will develop and hone your skills as a reader, writer, analyst, and thinker.

You can complete this program as a Bachelor or an Honours Bachelor degree. Registration in the honours degree usually begins in the second year, but admission may be gained in the third or fourth year provided you meet requirements.

Interested in challenging yourself? Wondering how you might add an interdisciplinary approach to your degree? You might be interested in SASAH! Unique in Canada, the SASAH Program offers an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and community-engaged educational experience. When you graduate, you receive an undergraduate Major from the School in conjunction with a Major from an existing program, such as Philosophy. Learn more here.
