DescriptionFrench Studies at York means that you will study with top-notch professors from all the French-speaking regions of the world. Our program is one of the broadest in Canada, encompassing literature, linguistics and drama as well as language courses at all levels.

In our literature program, you study works by writers from many French-speaking countries of the world. Our linguistics program will give you an overview of the best-known theories of European and American linguists, while our language program will help you develop competence in French conversation, writing, vocabulary, grammar and style.
