Description | Virtually every type of business today relies on information technology. Whether banking online, ordering a pizza, monitoring patients in a hospital, or publishing a newspaper, organizations must develop systems that serve their customers and help them succeed. Computers, the Internet, wireless communications, databases – all are forms of information technology which are used to collect, analyze, and share information. Information systems management examines how this technology can be used effectively in an ever-changing business context. Courses focus on how to develop and manage information systems to meet the strategic needs of business and government.
This certificate stands alone as an introduction to the IT management field, but it also provides a smooth transition either to another more specialized certificate or to the Business Technology Management degree program. The number of eligible courses that can be used towards the degree will depend on the curriculum in effect at the time of admission to the degree program. | | |
