Prerequisites NotesApplicant must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older. A minimum of six (6) required Grade 12 courses with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including one (1) specified U level course and five (5) additional U or M level courses. The following courses are required: English (ENG4U), a Grade 12 U level course in Mathematics OR a grade 11* Mathematics (U or M). *Minimum grade of 65% is required; a Grade 11 Math is not a substitute for a 12 U or M course. If a Grade 11 Math U or M, is used for admission consideration, applicants must still have six (6) Grade 12 U /M courses to be eligible to apply for this program.

DescriptionThe mission of the Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours) program is to provide students with the theoretical, practical and technical skills that reflect the profession of Interior Design. Through a comprehensive curriculum delivered by an interdisciplinary faculty, this program will prepare students to apply an integrated approach to interior design solutions for the built environment and its occupants, and will prepare students for the demand to meet technological changes and currency relating to sustainability, universal design, and health and safety.

This Bachelor of Interior Design degree, delivered at the honours level, provides professional training in the development of creative design solutions for interior spaces (residential, corporate/commercial, retail, institutional, healthcare, hospitality/entertainment, exposition) through project-based learning. The range of functional and aesthetic components that allow spaces in the built environment to be safely and comfortably inhabited are studied and the relationship of occupants and their physical environment is analyzed, through the consideration of ergonomics, illumination, acoustics, finishes, safety and all aspects of space programming.
