Description: | Art History scholars ask questions such as: What is the earliest known work of art? Why is the Renaissance period important to the development of Western art? How are new technologies transforming art?
Art History analyzes art and architecture across a range of historical, geopolitical and cultural contexts. This program will help you develop conceptual understanding of art history and design that may include traditional media such as painting, sculpture, architecture and photography along with innovations in the creative use of new technologies, indigenous media, performance art, as well as feminist and postcolonial approaches to visual culture and art practices. During the course of your studies, you’ll develop your critical analysis, writing and research skills and can integrate courses from a variety of areas such as classics, film, religion or history. This program highlights co-operative work placement to gain valuable full-time paid work experience that alternates with your academic studies and study abroad opportunities. |
