Description:It is critical for our BSW graduates to acquire skills needed to think holistically, and to engage in the complex dynamics of person and environment interactions. Students are expected to approach practice from an informed planned practice strategy (i.e., engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation), with problem solving skills, and an emphasis on the strengths perspective. Students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be effective entry-level practitioners through a curriculum which provides foundational tools for critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, collaborative problem-solving, positive intellectual values, understanding of diversity, and effective communication.

Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 85] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of Written English (part of TOEFL) [min. 4.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 60]

Students admitted to King's University College must be proficient in written and spoken English. Applicants for whom English is not their first language and who have not lived or studied in an English language environment for a period of at least 3 years will be required to write one of the following tests: T.O.E.F.L. (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - a written score of 580 or higher and a score of 4.5 on the TWE or a score of 85-90 on Internet Based Test (IBT) with no section less than 20; M.E.L.A.B. (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) - a score of 85 or higher with no less than 80 in any section; I.E.L.T.S. (International English Language Testing System) - a score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any section; or C.A.E.L. (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) - a minimum score of 60 is required with no part less than 60.
