Description: | Philosophy is the study of reality and our place within it. Through philosophical reflection one can begin to experience oneself and life in a more thoughtful and intensive fashion. Besides a richer and more meaningful life, philosophy is considered an excellent training for law, politics, business, medicine, science and computer science: it requires sound critical reasoning skills as well as good analytical training in order to understand and formulate arguments. Philosophy helps develop and sharpen the skills necessary for entering many professional faculties as well as developing professional careers. |

Students admitted to King's University College must be proficient in written and spoken English. Applicants for whom English is not their first language and who have not lived or studied in an English language environment for a period of at least 3 years will be required to write one of the following tests: T.O.E.F.L. (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - a written score of 580 or higher and a score of 4.5 on the TWE or a score of 85-90 on Internet Based Test (IBT) with no section less than 20; M.E.L.A.B. (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) - a score of 85 or higher with no less than 80 in any section; I.E.L.T.S. (International English Language Testing System) - a score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any section; or C.A.E.L. (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) - a minimum score of 60 is required with no part less than 60. |
Additional Admission Requirements: | College transfer students are required to have a minimum of a B average on an acceptable one-year certificate (General Arts and Sciences, Pre-Health Science, Human Services Foundation) or completed diploma. College transfer students may earn a maximum of five transfer credit. Individual courses must have a minimum achievement of 60% to be considered for transfer credit.
King’s projects a minimum 65% for admission for students transferring from another Canadian University. A maximum of ten transfer credit may be granted. Individual courses must have a minimum achievement of 60% to be considered for transfer credit. |
