Description:The two-year, full-time Costuming for Stage & Screen Diploma teaches students the technical and creative aspects of costuming for theatre and film.

If you've ever watched a TV show, play, concert or film and been blown away by the outfits and style of the actors, a career in costume design is for you.

You'll learn costume history, textiles, wardrobe management, cutting and construction techniques while gaining hands-on experience working on campus theatre productions and student film projects.

Admission Requirements

Interview and portfolio required. Students who have sufficient work experience in the film or theatre industries may be admitted on a case by case basis to the second year of the program.

Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.

Note: All B.C. applicants must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS). Please do this as soon as possible.
