Description: | The mysteries of number theory and the geometry of curved spaces: these are areas with important applications in data security, computer design and cosmology. For ages, through research both pure and applied, mathematicians have made invisible and unsung contributions to advancements in science and technology, and the importance of mathematical training is increasingly recognized by employers and governments around the world.
The Mathematics program is available as a major, double major or honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Science degree. There are also Minor degrees, including a Minor in Financial Math and a Minor in Computational Studies. |

Another senior-level course is also required. Only the first two years of Engineering are offered at UNB Saint John.
It is recommended that students who have not taken any mathematics courses for more than two years take MATH 1863 Precalculus before attempting MATH 1001 or MATH 1003.
Students with less than 75% in each of the PRECALCA120 and PRECALCB120 (or equivalent) may want to consider taking MATH 1863 Precalculus before attempting MATH 1001 or MATH 1003. |
