Description:The field of engineering is generally associated with finding solutions for real world problems in an analytical fashion using the math, science and problem-solving skills. At Lakehead we believe engineers must also possess excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of the business, legal, and societal issues that impact development of the technological products and processes required to meet the demands of a global economy.

As an electrical engineer, you will work on the development and manufacturing of electrical and electronics equipment. You will learn the fundamentals of physical science, as well as more practical areas in the design and operation of industrial control systems, communication systems, electronic circuits, and the generation and distribution of electrical power. The BEng (Electrical Engineering) Lakehead-Georgian Partnership by Lakehead University and Georgian College offers an integrated Bachelor of Engineering Degree and Electrical Engineering Technology Advanced Diploma.

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent high school diploma; Gr. 12 U English and 5 additional Gr. 12 U or M credits (including prerequisite courses). A minimum 70% overall final average. Admission averages are calculated using the top 6 Grade 12 U or M courses.
Program Specific Prerequisites: English (ENG4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U) with a minimum grade of 60%, Chemistry (SCH4U), Physics (SPH4U), 2 additional grade 12 U/M courses.
Note: In addition to the above requirements, Calculus and Vectors (i.e. MCV4U in Ontario) is strongly recommended. Students who have completed Ontario's Grade 12 U Calculus & Vectors, with a minimum mark of 60%, will be exempted from MATH 1071 - Vectors and Matrices.
