Description:Develop your Ucwalmícwts (Lil’wat) language skills while learning about the history and culture of the Lil’wat Nation. Cá7stum' ti Nqwal'úttenlhkalha!

Help keep the Ucwalmícwts (the Lil'wat language) alive. Suited to current or future teacher of the Lil'wat language, the program offers introductory language courses as well as literature and other electives relevant to Lil'wat language and culture.

The program is taught from a Lil’wat perspective. You'll study at the Ts'zil Learning Centre in Mount Currie and learn from CapU instructors and Lil'wat community members.

Additional Admission Requirements:
    • Interview with Lil'wat education officials required

    Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.

    Note: All B.C. applicants must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS). Please do this as soon as possible.
