Every applicant is automatically considered for a National Entrance Scholarship — worth between $4,000 and $12,000 over the course of your degree. Trent University's Prestigious Scholarships
Prestigious Scholarships are intended for Trent's best and brightest. Any student with a high school average of 80% or higher is welcome to apply. There are four types of Prestigious Scholarships, but you'll only need one application form!
Champlain Scholarships
Value of award: $5,000 per year; total of $20,000
Number of awards: 2
Application deadline: April 1
Each year, two outstanding students are awarded a Champlain Scholarship. If you have exceptional promise and a strong academic record, don't miss your chance at a Champlain Scholarship, worth $5,000 per year for up to four years.
Board of Governors' Leadership Scholarship
Value of award: $4,500 per year; total of $18,000
Number of awards: 1
Application deadline: April 1
One Board of Governors' Leadership Scholarship is awarded each year to a student with strong academics, and outstanding leadership and community involement. If you're engaged with your school or community, you may receive a scholarship worth $4,500 per year for up to four years.
Special Admission Scholarships
Value of award: $3,750 per year; total of $15,000
Number of awards: 10
Application deadline: April 1
Special Admission Scholarships are offered to ten students with a history of academic success, and a track record of extra-curricular achievement. If you excel in band, sports, business, or any other extra-curriculars, check out the Special Admission Scholarships, worth $3,750 per year for up to four years.
Canada-Wide Science Fair Scholarship
Value of award: $3,750 per year; total of $15,000
Number of awards: 1
Application deadline: April 1
The Canada-Wide Science Fair Scholarship, worth $3,750 per year for up to four years, goes to one student per year who has received a medal or honourable mention for a senior-level project at a Canada-Wide Science Fair / Youth Science Canada fair within the past two years.
The real magic of these scholarships is that they are renewable, meaning if you keep your grades up, you'll continue to receive funding as you progress through your degree.
You're only able to receive one major entrance scholarship, though. So if you receive an offer for a National Entrance Scholarship, but you're also chosen for a Prestigious Scholarship, like those mentioned above, you'll only receive the more valuable Prestigious Scholarship.
