Job fairs: Connecting students with industry professionals

The art of networking is all about building meaningful relationships! This is why the CDC team works tirelessly to bring different opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals who understand what it’s like to be a student and want to share their experiences and expertise with them.

Throughout the year, the CDC works closely with schools and faculties across CapU to host in-person hiring fairs providing students with direct access to potential employers in their areas of interest. In addition to helping students secure potential employment, hiring fairs are an opportunity to make meaningful connections, learn about different industries, and practice networking skills.

Why every CapU student should take advantage of the CDC

The Career Development Centre at Capilano University is an essential resource for career growth.

For those who like to learn with a group of peers, the CDC offers weekly workshops where students can learn how to write strong cover letters, build a great LinkedIn profile, and develop impressive professional competencies, just to name a few.

For students seeking personalized coaching, the CDC also offers one-on-one advising appointments year-round with their experienced Career Advisors — whether you know what you want to do and just need some support in securing that opportunity, or you are at the beginning of your journey, their dedicated Advisors are there to help. (side note: one of the most popular appointment types is the Mock Interview Appointment, which helps students develop those invaluable interview skills and get real-time feedback to adjust their answers for an upcoming interview)
