What is the Winning Seed Competition?
The Winning Seed Competition by LetsStopAIDS is an exciting opportunity for youth to showcase their passion through real-life projects in the fight against HIV. This opportunity will allow participants to propose a project based on their interests and explore their passions in a meaningful way.
How does it work?
By May 20, 2024, applicants will submit a short project proposal using a provided template. Submissions will be judged by LetsStopAIDS and a panel of judges. The top 3 projects will pitch their ideas to the judges in an online event in June!
What does the winner get?
First place will win a $1,000 micro-grant, a $500 cash prize, and a year of expert mentorship to realize their project. Winners will receive expert guidance in project management, entrepreneurship, HIV/AIDS, advocacy, and more.
Who's eligible to participate?
Requirements to enter the competition:
- Participants must be between the ages of 14 to 29 years old
- Minimum 50% of the group must be one of the following:
- Canadian citizens
- Permanent residents
- or Refugees
- Participants can apply individually or with a team of up to five people
What projects are eligible?
Your project idea should relate to topics surrounding HIV and/or sexual health and should align with one or more of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goal themes:
The possibilities are endless. You could organize a poster initiative, conduct a research project, host an awareness event, build an app or website, create an educational initiative, run an advocacy campaign, or even start a podcast. The choice is yours!

By taking part in this competition, you can showcase your leadership, project management, community engagement, and technical skills, all of which are highly valued by employers and universities.

Download and fill out the proposal form and then submit your proposal through the Winning Seed website by May 20th, 2024.
