6 McGill Students Take Home Canada's Biggest STEM Scholarships

In 2020, McGill University welcomes its largest-ever contingent of Sculich Leader Scholarship winners, with six students from across the country taking home these prestigious prizes.

The Schulich Leader Scholarships celebrate 100 of Canada's best and brightest high school students in STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. 50 awards of $100,000 each are reserved for engineering students, while another 50 awards of $80,000 each go to students in science, tech, and math.

McGill Engineering Winners

Each Schulich Leader entering the McGill Faculty of Engineering will receive $25,000 per year over the course of a four year degree.

Anne Sarah Dickman

Anne Sarah Dickman graduated from Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montréal, where she served as Treasurer for the school's student society. She's pursuing her BEng in Bioengineering.

Zhi Xin Joey Koay

Joey's a graduate of Robert Thirsk High School in Calgary, Alberta. She works as a math tutor at Mathnasium, a learning centre, and she'll be studying Software Engineering at McGill.

Ana Eugenia Quintero Garcia

Ana Eugenia Quintero Garcia garduated from West Island College in Calgary, and she's placed highly in a number of engineering competitions already. She's pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

McGill Science Winners

Each Schulich Leader entering the McGill Faculty of Science will receive $20,000 per year over the course of a four year degree.

Christopher Chong

Christopher graduated from David Thompson Secondary School in Vancouver. He developed Hydrofinity, a thermoelectric power plant water recovery project, as well as a non-profit to spread awareness of STEM. He's entering a joint Honours degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Maggie QingFeng Xiong

Maggie Xiong graduated from J.N. Burnett Secondary School in Richmond, BC, and she's already a published non-fiction author! She's pursuing her BSc in Computer Science and Biology.

Louis-Phillipe Robichaud

Louis-Philipe graduated from Champlain St. Lawrence CEGEP in Quebec City. He has research experience at Université Laval and will pursue his joint Honours degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at McGill.
