Career Description

Photographers operate cameras to photograph people, events, scenes, materials, products and other subjects.

Duties May Include

Photographers perform some or all of the following duties:

Study the requirements of an assignment to determine the proper equipment/lighting and operate still cameras to photograph people, events, scenes, materials, products, and other subjects;

Operate scanners/computers to transfer stills to a digital medium and manipulate photographic images;

Process film and retouch negatives using airbrush or computer techniques;

Adapt existing photographic images and create new digitized media for use in multimedia/new media products;

May specialize in portrait, commercial, scientific, forensic, medical, digitized or multimedia photography or photojournalism.
